# PZ LiveMap 0.5.0 — 28 September 2026

Both Windows downloads now use version 0.5.0. The server installer and portable renderer automatically download pinned dependencies when needed, with SHA-256 verification, three attempts, cancellable progress, caching, integrity checks and staged replacement. Cloudflare downloads only when a new tunnel token is supplied. Python and the renderer download before the first render or import, with no system Python installation needed. An installed runtime can be reused offline. This release uses the same renderer and telemetry agent as the previous release.

Setup discovers Steam libraries, common SteamCMD locations and Zomboid server profiles. Ambiguous results require selection; custom paths support browsing. Saved choices are preserved. Public access uses the user's own HTTPS hostname, with no personal hostname prefilled. Updated standalone setup and portable guides are included. The private server archive report is excluded from packaging.

## Upgrade

Keep the existing installation paths and leave terrain rendering unchecked to reuse current tiles. Accounts, configuration and terrain are preserved. The website briefly stops during installation. The telemetry agent is byte-for-byte unchanged; an otherwise unchanged working game integration needs no new game restart for this release. Older bundled renderer installations prepare the verified runtime once on the next render/import, which requires internet access.

## Validation performed

- All Go tests and vet; frontend lint, 22 tests and production build.
- Setup helpers: saved configuration, neutral defaults, discovery, ambiguous profiles, custom origins and telemetry preservation.
- Dependency tests: interrupted transfers, retries, checksum rejection, corrupt-cache repair, offline reuse, cancellation, exclusive locks, unsafe archive rejection and interrupted-promotion recovery.
- Real HTTPS download and extraction of every pinned Windows dependency, real-transfer cancellation, installed-file verification and reuse with network access disabled in the test.
- All 16 Python tests, including upstream isometric and orthographic rendering with synthetic Build 42 assets, conversion and portable map packaging/import validation.
- Worker launch with stdin closure, concurrent stdout/stderr draining and error capture; Java telemetry fixtures for movement, floors, disconnects and server API variants.
- Browser regression: live driving without reload, remembered access and logout privacy; floor location/zoom preservation in both projections.
- Authenticode verification of both final downloads and all three application executables; extracted payload comparison; installer version resources; every public EXE below 25 MiB.

The tests ran on Linux. Rendering execution used a Linux Python environment with the pinned upstream renderer; the downloaded Windows Python runtime was checked for integrity and packaging, not executed here. Native Windows Forms interaction, UAC, service installation, real game assets and an actual Cloudflare tunnel still require a Windows smoke test. Windows PowerShell 5.1 download/runtime tests are included in CI but were not run in this environment.
